Cookie Policy

What cookies and similar technologies this site uses, organized by category, and how you can control each one.

What are cookies?

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies — such as browser localStorage/sessionStorage entries and per-visit identifiers — serve comparable purposes: remembering a preference, keeping you signed in, or recognizing your browser across page views. This site uses both cookies and these similar browser-storage technologies, referred to together as "cookies" below for simplicity.

Category 1

Strictly Necessary

These are required for the site to function and are not subject to the analytics opt-in below. They cover:

  • — core website functionality and navigation;
  • — security (such as basic spam/abuse prevention on the contact form);
  • — session or authentication handling, where applicable (for example, the admin dashboard login);
  • — your saved preference, such as light/dark theme; and
  • — remembering your cookie-consent choice itself, so the banner doesn't reappear unnecessarily.

Because these are necessary for the site to work, they are not offered as an opt-in choice.

Category 2

Analytics

Loaded only after you accept analytics in the consent banner or preferences panel. This category includes:

  • — Google Analytics;
  • — Microsoft Clarity, where enabled; and
  • — this site's own first-party analytics, which uses a persistent browser identifier to distinguish sessions and visits.

Purpose: measuring how the site is used, understanding visitor behavior in aggregate, and identifying opportunities to improve the site. If you reject analytics, none of these technologies load, and no persistent analytics identifier is created by this site's own analytics system.

Category 3

Functional / Media

The Work page embeds YouTube videos behind a click-to-play thumbnail — no YouTube iframe loads until you click play. Once you do, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and begin its own data processing to serve the video, independent of the analytics choice above. This is a functional/media technology tied to an action you take (clicking play), not a passive analytics cookie.

Category 4

Advertising

We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies on this website.

No advertising category is offered in the consent banner because no advertising or remarketing tags are configured. Google Consent Mode's advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) are kept denied at all times on this site, regardless of your analytics choice.

Control

Managing your choice

You can change your analytics choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of every page. Rejecting analytics stops Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and this site's own analytics from loading going forward, and removes the persistent visitor/session identifiers this site's own analytics previously stored in your browser.

See the Privacy Policy for more detail on how each provider processes data.
